2012 marks the year of Atlantik-Brücke's 60th anniversary of its founding. Reflected in Atlantik-Brücke’s 60 years are also six decades of German-American relations – with all their highs and lows. This is for us reason enough to pause and reflect on the many different aspects of our history and the history of transatlantic relations. But above all, this is also an occasion to sincerely thank all our long-last friends and partners and look toward the challenges to come.

We have asked Atlantik-Brücke’s supporters and companions over the years to think about and share with us their memories of this organization and of German-American relations. Out of this initiative arose 14 interviews with prominent German and American leaders who themselves are bridge-builders across the Atlantic, and through these interviews, we have found a voice for a small retrospective in words, image and sound.
