STUDY GROUP USA Dr. Arend Oetker und former State Secretary Dr. Alfred Tacke A select group of recognized experts and public figures in Germany have made up the “Study Group USA” since 1984. The meeting offers its members a non-partisan and confidential expert discussion about foreign, security, economic, and domestic policy of short and long-term importance for German-American relations. This distinguished gathering for decision makers from various fields of public life has been known to stimulate discussion in the upper ranks of German companies and political institutions, including the Deutscher Bundestag. In addition, the debates and talks often serve to identify topics for bilateral German-American expert meetings and conference series. Keynote speakers from Germany and the U.S. address the group, which lead to the exchange of opinions that make the Study Group USA one of the most valuable in German-American relations today.
