In the era of AI, intelligence operations are carried out not only by governments but also by and through private entities. Every citizen, particularly in democracies, is becoming a target of foreign espionage, surveillance, and concerted disinformation campaigns. Democracies are particularly vulnerable to these operations as they rely on both freedom of information and their citizens’ trust. AI is fundamentally altering the way disinformation is spread, and increasing the risks associated with Chinese control over platforms like TikTok.

Together with Sir Richard Dearlove, former Chief of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), and Dr. Anthony Vinci, former Chief Technology Officer and Associate Director for Capabilities at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and author of The Fourth Intelligence Revolution: The Future of Espionage and the Battle to Save America, we will explore how AI is changing the future of espionage.
