European Finance at the Fault Lines of Transatlantic Relations

Burkhard Balz

Wednesday, February 25, 2026
06.00 pm - 08.00 pm

London

Amid a shifting geopolitical climate and mounting tensions in transatlantic relations, European regulators and central bankers have been striving to establish an independent, sovereign, and digital European financial system. One example of this strategy is the digital euro. As payments in Europe are still dominated by non-European providers, the European Central Bank (ECB) and other European central banks have laid the foundation for a sovereign digital payment system.

Burkhard Balz, Member of the Bundesbank’s Executive Board, will join us in London to discuss the Bundesbank’s outlook for 2026 and Europe’s role as a financial center at the fault lines of transatlantic relations.

We would like to thank J. Stern & Co. for the support.

This event is for members of Atlantik-Brücke.
