Better Be Prepared on: The History of Conflict Resolution- Lessons for today

In his hitherto unsuccessful pursuit of the Nobel Peace Prize, President Trump claims he has ended seven military conflicts. By employing unconventional means, including threats of tariffs or military escalation, he was involved in brokering agreements, such as between Cambodia and Thailand, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and most notably Israel and Hamas. However, despite the red carpet in Alaska, the war in Ukraine continues without resolution in sight. Therefore, we turn to history and ask: What can past conflict settlements teach us for today? And how can we achieve just and sustainable peace that goes beyond the mere silence of weapons? Please join us as we discuss these and other questions with our distinguished speakers from the United States and Germany.
