Former U.S. Ambassador to Germany John B. Emerson, Chairman of the American Council on Germany, and Chairman of the Atlantik-Brücke Sigmar Gabriel, former Federal Foreign Minister, spoke about the domestic and foreign policy priorities of Germany’s new government represented by the Social Democrats, the Greens and the Free Democrats. They analyzed the political handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, the international fight against climate change and the appropriate reaction to the tensions with Russia in the Ukraine crisis. Juliane Schäuble, U.S. Correspondent, Der Tagesspiegel, moderated the discussion. The event was held in cooperation with the American Council on Germany and the Los Angeles World Affairs Council & Town Hall.
