„An annexation is highly unlikely“

With his raw display of interest in Greenland, U.S. President Trump has put the island in the North Atlantic and Arctic Ocean at the top of the geopolitical agenda. Yesterday’s edition of Atlantik-Brücke’s virtual event series “Better Be Prepared” explored the strategic and economic significance of Greenland.

Our speakers, Luke Coffey, Senior Fellow, Center on Europe and Eurasia, Hudson Institute and Jonas Parello-Plesner, Executive Director, Alliance of Democracies (Copenhagen), discussed Greenlands importance in terms of economic, environmental and security policy. The conversation was moderated by Anna Schiller, Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ).

Watch the short version, highlighting key moments — including these central questions:

  • Why is Greenland relevant for geopolitics?
  • What’s next for the U.S.-Greenland relationship?
