After the U.S. Election – What to Expect from the New Presidency?

Oettinger, former EU Commissioner, President, United Europe, Daniela Schwarzer, Director, German Council on Foreign Relations, and Anna Wieslander, Director for Northern Europe, Atlantic Council, discuss the future of the European-American relationship. The election results offer a chance to reorient transatlantic relations. In the coming months, it will be important for Europe to actively shape the relationship with the United States. But even under a President Biden, there will not be a return to the status quo ante. The panelists also discuss the kind of changes Europe can expect from the new leadership and which conflicts might persist.
