German-American Conferences

Top-level expert meetings examine Germany’s relationship towards the United States

Together with its American sister organization, the American Council on Germany, Atlantik-Brücke holds annual conferences on current transatlantic issues. At the most recent conference, Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel outlined his ideas about a new transatlantic relationship. Other speakers in the past have included U.S. Director of Intelligence Dan Coats, the former Co-Chair of the Democratic National Committee Donna Brazile, German Federal Finance Minister Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble, former President of World Bank Robert B. Zoellick and former German Foreign Minister Dr. Frank Walter Steinmeier. The speakers openly talk about current topics and do not hesitate to address controversies such as President Trump’s criticism of his international partners and the NSA spying scandal. The conference venue alternates between Germany and the United States.
