The virtual event entitled “Conversation on Relations between China and the West: A Perspective from Beijing” was held in cooperation with the Munich Security Conference as part of the MSC’s “Road to Munich” campaign.

The speakers were H.E. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs, People’s Republic of China, Sigmar Gabriel, Chairman, Atlantik-Brücke; Former Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Federal Republic of Germany, and Federica Mogherini, Rector, College of Europe; Former Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, European Union.

The discussion was moderated by Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman, Munich Security Conference and Member of the Board of Atlantik-Brücke.

The discussion ranged from Europe’s relationship with China, the US’s role in that relationship, to the value of multilateralism.
