Female Network Atlantik-Brücke
What has the Female Network been able to accomplish so far?
Since its inception, the Female Network has already hosted five high-profile events, scheduled to coincide with key dates on the Atlantik-Brücke calendar, in order to enable as many women as possible to participate and network with one another, as well as to increase the network’s visibility. For example, the Female Network hosted two side events as part of the Munich Security Conference and organized an event during the Atlantik-Brücke’s annual general meeting.
Are there specific topics that the Female Network focuses on?
The women’s network covers a wide range of topics: For example, Green Party Chairwoman Ricarda Lang and FDP Member of the Bundestag Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann spoke about German foreign and security policy. Pakistani Minister of State Rabbani Khar, OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid, feminist activist Kristina Lunz, and the German-Iranian actresses and activists Pegah Ferydoni and Melika Foroutan discussed the current state of feminist foreign policy. On the topic of critical infrastructure, Carol Evans, director of the Strategic Studies Institute, and Aletta von Massenbach, CEO of Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, spoke. And Franziska Brantner (then State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action), Phumzile van Damme (former member of the South African Parliament), and Alina Polyakova (President of the Center for European Policy Analysis) discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on our democracy.
What are the Female Network's plans for the future?
In the coming months, there will, of course, be more high-profile events. At the same time, we want to strengthen our presence in the regional groups. Our goal is to establish the Female Network as an integral part of the Atlantik-Brücke. And last but not least, we want to help ensure that the proportion of female members in the Atlantik-Brücke continues to rise steadily.
Who leads the Female Network?
The Female Network's Steering Committee consists of Sawsan Chebli, Denise Feldner, Katja Gloger, Tina Hassel, Eveline Metzen, Friederike von Tiesenhausen, and Nagila Warburg.
Who are the points of contact for the Female Network?
The Female Network is managed by Jonas Ader (j.ader(at)atlantik-bruecke.org) and Louise Lüdke (l.luedke(at)atlantik-bruecke.org) as part of the Atlantik-Brücke team.
