From the perspective of the average citizen, AI has been on a meteoric rise since the beginning of 2023 when AI applications became available to everyone. For governments and businesses, this has not so much come as a surprise, given that AI has been widely used by industry for years. However, the rise of AI has not reached its end and offers, besides a multitude of benefits, also new opportunities for malicious actors in cybercrime. By manipulating AI algorithms, for instance, criminals can gain unauthorized access to data or adversarial governments can disseminate misinformation. This clearly poses new threats and challenges to businesses, governments, and civil society.

Together with representatives of leading technology companies, government representatives and other guests we would like to discuss the risks of AI for cybersecurity, how to face them as a private actor and how to address them through regulation.

The event will be held in English under Chatham House Rule.

This event is for members of Atlantik-Brücke.
