The Colorado Symphony is one of the leading cultural institutions in the American West and a dynamic contributor to the transatlantic creative economy. The two concerts are part of the orchestra’s New York tour.
At Radio City Music Hall, the orchestra, led by Resident Conductor Christopher Dragon (read more), will perform with the folk and indie-rock singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov (read more). Their past collaborations combining Isakov’s meditative indie-folk with orchestral arrangements have drawn critical acclaims and are one of the Symphony’s most celebrated cross-genre projects.
The next day, the Colorado Symphony will perform at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Music Director Peter Oundjian (read more), the orchestra will be joined by world renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman (read more), 16-time Grammy Award winner, to celebrate his 80th birthday for a festive matinee. Perlman’s artistic legacy and personal story – as well as his decades-long mentorship and musical friendship with Oundjian – add a resonant cultural dimension that connects music, memory, and transatlantic history. They will perform several works including the theme from Schindler’s List, which Perlman played for the Oscar-winning movie and other pieces such as John Adam’s Frenzy and Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
Our new member Daniel Wachter, President & CEO of the Colorado Symphony (read more), is delighted to welcome Atlantik-Brücke members and friends in New York to the performances and will host small get-togethers after the concerts.
