New Bridge is a fully funded study program for young professionals with a focus on diversity.
The New Bridge Program is a fully funded fellowship program designed to renew the transatlantic dialogue and make it more accessible. It seeks to reflect the diversity of society and enrich transatlantic relations by including a variety of different perspectives and life experiences. Thus, it is targeted towards marginalized individuals who have been traditionally underrepresented in German-American dialogue.
New Bridge offers young professionals from the United States and Germany the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the transatlantic dialogue during a 10-day program. The study trip begins with introductory activities in their respective country (Washington, D.C., or Berlin) and then takes the participants across the Atlantic to experience the United States or Europe firsthand. During the program, participants will discuss social developments on both continents, learn about history and culture on the other side of the Atlantic, and establish professional and personal connections. To provide participants with sustainable access to German-American relations, fellows are integrated into an active alumni network after their program participation, which ensures the continuance of the transatlantic exchange through events and networking opportunities.
